The Nu Wakefield Pride team has been working more than ever to bring you a day of celebration, entertainment and pride in Wakefields LBGT community.
The event, this year, is Sunday the 14th of August. Our celebration of diversity will take place on Southgate, Wakefield and we are hoping to achieve record numbers of visitors this year to top our 5000 at the last event!

The main stage will run from 12pm to 6pm with a fantastic line up of local and headline talent including: Hed Kandi’s Soraya Vivian, Stars of ITV 1′s The Drag Queens – The Diamond Divas, Leeds favourites Carla Jackson and Cheryl Hole, The one and only Anna Glypta, Local male vocalists Dan Deravaiere and Dave Seville, The gorgeous grizzly’s Bears Aloud, The amazing Back to the Future, AND X-Factors Same Difference. The main event will culminate with our “Celebration Parade” through the city’s streets, with floats, music and marching bands.

As always, our event relies on the fantastic support of the Wakefield community and we still have openings for all kinds of volunteers, so if you would like to be a part of the excitement, just fill in the form on the “Get Involved” page. We also still have some stalls available so if you would like to showcase your business or organisation, just send us a message via the “Contact” page and we will be delighted to accomodate you.

Dont forget Nu Wakefield Pride is licensed for the consumption of alcohol on Southgate, and this year we have outdoor bars for your convenience and enjoyment. Straight after the main event, the New Union will be hosting our famous “After Dark” after party will a full evenings entertainment and the festivities will continue until the early hours!

So please show your pride in your community and join us for the best event yet
